First performed in 1603, As You Like It is often called Shakespeare’s funniest play. It is an Elizabethan romp with Shakespeare’s most engaging heroine, Rosalind dominating the action. We follow the passions and tribulations of four sets of lovers in the Forest of Arden. Cross dressing and gender confusion add to the comedy.
Continuing Wargrave Theatre Workshop’s tradition of highly acclaimed Festival productions, our seventeenth ‘Shakespeare on the Green’ will be directed and produced by Joe and Joy Haynes, assisted by Peter Hughes.
We re-create the Forest of Arden on beautiful Mill Green with St Mary’s Church forming the backdrop. This is an event not to be missed.
For a memorable evening, come and enjoy a picnic on the Green with your friends before the performance.
We will be providing comfortable, covered seating to ensure an excellent evening’s entertainment, even if it rains!
