The Festival, which was inspired by the Vicar, the Revd John Ratings, was first held in the summer of 1975 and has been held every other year since.
From relatively modest beginnings, it has become the most wide ranging Wargrave social drawing together the whole village community in two weeks of non stop activities, to which almost all organisations play their parts. It makes an invaluable contribution to the cementing of Wargrave’s esprit de corps.” (From: The Second Book of Wargrave by The Wargrave Local History Society)
For the Wargrave Out Of This World Village Festival this coming June there are 21 different Wargrave village societies, plus the central festival committee, making well over 100 people across the village, who are organising 47 separate events to the people of Wargrave between 12th and 30th June.

If you enjoy the music of big bands such as Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and their contemporaries you will really enjoy this show. The BBO gets its name from the three counties the original members were drawn from, namely: Bucks, Berks, Oxon. The 20 piece band is made up of both male and female vocalists, saxophones, trumpets, trombones and a rhythm section comprising of piano, guitar, bass and drums.
The Band members are professionals, semi-pros and those who have retired from the business but just can’t stop coming back who are drawn together by the infectious drive and swing of the big band repertoire. Returning to the festival after an acclaimed performance in 2019 this promises to be a memorable evening of classic, big band, and swing music.
