The Festival, which was inspired by the Vicar, the Revd John Ratings, was first held in the summer of 1975 and has been held every other year since.
From relatively modest beginnings, it has become the most wide ranging Wargrave social drawing together the whole village community in two weeks of non stop activities, to which almost all organisations play their parts. It makes an invaluable contribution to the cementing of Wargrave’s esprit de corps.” (From: The Second Book of Wargrave by The Wargrave Local History Society)
For the Wargrave Out Of This World Village Festival this coming June there are 21 different Wargrave village societies, plus the central festival committee, making well over 100 people across the village, who are organising 47 separate events to the people of Wargrave between 12th and 30th June.
